Born and bred in Geelong, Freya grew up in a family that has been long recognised for their commitment to the Geelong community. She grew up in Newtown, was educated in Geelong and now lives in Belmont.
Freya has an extensive working career as an HR professional and holds a Masters in Commerce (Human Resources). Working in the private sector most of her career, she has a vast array of industry knowledge and manufacturing experience. She understands the challenges faced within regional Victorian communities having worked locally at Ford Motor Company and currently in the Dairy industry in South-West Victoria.
Currently enrolled with the Committee for Geelong’s “Leaders for Geelong” program Freya is committed to deepening her community involvement and civic leadership capability in the interests of Geelong. Inspired by her father and her grandfather, along with a determination to be a strong local voice for Geelong, Freya ran for the City of Greater Geelong Council in the Brownbill Ward.
A long-time resident in Geelong, Freya is excited about the future of Geelong as Victoria’s second largest city.
